Long Game Drill - Driving Drill
golfbrain2.jpg

What is needed for the golf drill?

  • Golf clubs.

  • A driving range.

The golf drill
Create a golf driving range area 25 yards wide. Hit 10 drives with a 30 second gap in-between each golf shot and see how many golf balls finish within your marked area. If you manage 7 out of 10 then move the golf driving range into 20 yards wide. Repeat the exercise. When you score 7 out of 10 again move the golf driving range into 15 yards wide… and so on.

This golf game has pressure, difficulty and scorekeeping - three elements of successful golf practice. It also stops you blazing away at 30 or 40 golf balls without stopping to think. Try not to hit more than 30 drives in any one session. This golf drill can be used with all driving golf clubs (for example the 3 wood or a utility golf club), not just the driver.
