Biography:

Widely regarded as one of the finest drivers of the golf ball on the European Tour, 'he is extremely long but surprisingly straight' says Chris Sells from StrokeAverage.com.  Came flying out of the blocks in his rookie season with a joint fourth finish in the Volvo China Open, his first event of the 2006 season after graduating to The European Tour. Won his place through the 2005 Challenge Tour and then improved his ranking at the Qualifying School - Final Stage. That start, along with two other top five finishes, left him an impressive 66th on the Order of Merit in only his second year in the paid ranks. Stepped up another level in 2007 when he won The KLM Open, his maiden title, at Kennemer G&CC to deny local favourite Joost Luiten after a lengthy rules query on the 10th hole. Came very close to recording a second title at the start of the 2008 campaign but lost out to Phil Mickelson in a play-off for the HSBC Champions alongside fellow Englishman & StrokeAverage.com client Lee Westwood. Soon banished that disappointment to the memory with a landslide seven stroke victory over his closest challenger, Sergio Garcia, at The European Open at The London Golf Club in his homeland.  What only a few people realise is that he was actually considering not playing at The London Club, but Chris Sells and Adam Marrow his caddy convinced him to play during a conversation that took place by the putting green at The 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines won by Tiger Woods.  He also came close to adding the 2008 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship to his impressive CV, only to be denied by Robert Karlsson from Sweden in a sudden-death play-off.  In 2009 he has already recorded a 4th place finish at the 2009 Accenture WGC losing the consolation final to Stewart Cink following his semi final match with fellow Surrey golfer Paul Casey.  In his early matches Ross beat Robert Allenby, Pat Perez, Jim Furyk & Justin Leonard who have all won on the PGA Tour.   Learnt his golf at Wentworth Club after being introduced to the game by his step-father at the age of three.  He was also the former Surrey County Golf Union Foursomes Partner of John Franks from StrokeAverage.com.  His swing coach is Kristian Baker and he also works with Mark Roe on his Short Game.  He still fills out his own stat sheets after each round he plays on tour.

Ross Fisher won the 2007 KLM Open and is also the Current European Open Champion
