Biography:

One of the original seven golfers who worked with Chris Sells from Sum It Golf Services alongside Zane Scotland, Richard McEvoy, Ricky Blaxill, John Franks, Mark Side and Jamie Elson. Started playing “street golf” with friends aged 10 using a set of cut down clubs. Progressed to pitch and putt then joined West Herts Golf Club. Represented England at all levels as an amateur, having captained England Boys in 1998– the year he won the Carris Trophy (English U18 Strokeplay Championship). Chris Sells caddied for him at the second stage of the 2003 US PGA Q-School at Hombre GC, Florida – where he was drawn with one Gary Christian, who grew up playing golf with Chris in Surrey! David got through to the third stage at PGA West in California which earned him a card for the Nationwide Tour. While playing the latter and the leading Hooters mini-tour in 2003 and 2004, David got to play alongside future Major winners Ben Curtis and Zac Johnson, as well as fellow Ryder Cup player Vaughan Taylor. David also linked up with coach Todd Anderson - the professional at Sea Island Golf Club, Georgia, where David won the Daily Telegraph Junior Golf Championship in 1997. He is still attached to the club today. Away from the course, he enjoys music and plays acoustic guitar. Also plays football, tennis and table tennis. Dad Clive was a former manager of non-league Middlesex club Hayes. Has consolidated his position on The European Tour with two consistent seasons since gaining his card through the Qualifying School in 2004 and 2005. Lost his European Tour Card in 2008 but will surely return to one of the main Tours very soon as he has a very good, all-round game. Nicknamed by Chris Sells as “King of the Semi Rough.”
